Must Have
Medical Assistant Diploma/Certificate required, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required, At least one (1) to two (2) years experience in a clinical setting, Venipuncture and Injection training within one (1) year of employment
Nice to Have
Reproductive health care experience desirable, Knowledge of surgical services preferred
What You'll Do.
Assist patients with testing
Provide non-judgmental
empathetic education and communication
Obtain medical history
Interview and educate clients
Ensure informed consent
Assist with Patient Portal Enrollment
Accompany clients during procedures
Assist nurses and clinicians
Provide pregnancy testing and options counseling
Provide abortion education per agency protocols
Complete pre-screening form
Complete daily quality control log
Clean and stock exam and interview rooms
Comply with infection control
and emergency guidelines
Perform sharp handling
Perform Dipstick urinalysis
Perform Phlebotomy/Injection
Record drug or medication history
Educate on analgesia options
Educate on contraception choices
Prepare room for examination
Assist patient in preparation for examination
Assist in patient transportation
Provide support for patient
Operate electric table
Assist with Ultra Sound machine
Greet and assist all patients and visitors
Schedule patient appointments
Reschedule patient appointments
Cancel patient appointments
Confirm patient appointments
Compile complete and accurate information
Process cash payments
Verify insurance coverage
Determine patient eligibility
Maintain effective patient flow
Utilize computer programs for eligibility verification
Utilize computer programs for scheduling
Utilize computer programs for registration
Utilize computer programs for entering charges
Utilize computer programs for obtaining benefit information
Generate letters for authorizations
Refer patients to correct agencies or offices
Complete family planning billing
