One year of previous experience in dermatology medical office required, Licensed medical assistant or further nursing degree, Demonstrated ability in taking patient vitals, Demonstrated ability in injection/immunization procedures, Demonstrated ability in charting and documentation, Demonstrated ability in exam room preparation, Demonstrated ability in infectious waste handling, Demonstrated ability in sterile techniques, Demonstrated ability in routine lab procedures and collection, Demonstrated ability in handling patient confidentiality, Ability to work with peers in a team situation, Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served

Nice to Have

Experience utilizing Modernizing Medicine / EMA Electronic Medical Record (EMR) highly preferred

What You'll Do.

Prepare exam rooms for patient use

Clean exam rooms between patients

Ensure exam rooms are stocked with supplies

Prepare procedure trays

Escort patients to exam room

Interview patients to assess needs

Record reason for visit

Record current medications

Instruct patients how to prepare for examination

Complete routine forms

Assist physicians with patient procedures

Assist providers with patient procedures

Prepare specimens for outside lab analysis

Package specimens appropriately

Complete requisition forms

Contact testing facilities

Submit lab results to physician

Schedule diagnostic tests

Schedule off-site diagnostic tests

Provide patients with preparation instructions

Make appointments for diagnostic tests

Phone patients for appointments

Phone testing sites for appointments

Record procedures ordered

Track diagnostic test results

Facilitate referrals to other physicians

Phone physician offices for referrals

Make appointments for referrals

Forward requested test results

Contact hospital for lab results

Contact outside sources for lab results
