What They're Looking For.

Must Have

High School Diploma or GED, Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program, Completion of structured military training, EMT training, 2 years verifiable full-time experience as Medical Assistant, Current AHA BLS certification, Atrium Health's competency assessment, BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 45 days, Medical Assistant scope of practice, Knowledge of growth and development principles, Ability to assess patient status, Ability to interpret patient age-specific needs, Functional speech, vision, hearing, Ability to use fine-hand manipulation skills

Nice to Have

Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) within 1 year

What You'll Do.

Adhere to Medical Assistant scope of practice

Follow all policies and procedures

Maintain training and competency

Perform rooming/visit tasks

Assist provider with procedures

Perform lab related duties

Complete CLIA approved waived laboratory tests

Administer medications and vaccines safely

Perform medication refills

Perform insurance authorizations

Complete safety/regulatory log

Perform patient messaging

Perform medication/supply ordering

Perform appointment scheduling

Cross train to perform duties

Demonstrate effective and timely communication

Demonstrate appropriate escalation

Maintain a clean work environment

Ensure instruments and equipment are cleaned

Ensure equipment and supplies are in working order

Ensure areas are appropriately stocked

Demonstrate knowledge and skills for patient care

Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development

Assess data reflective of patient's status

Interpret information for age-specific needs

Provide care for age-specific needs
