Must Have
High School Diploma or GED, Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program, Completion of structured military training, EMT training, 2 years MA experience (IL/WI), 2 years MA experience (Floyd/Navicent), Current AHA BLS certification, Successful completion of competency assessment
Nice to Have
Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) certification
What You'll Do.
Adhere to Medical Assistant scope of practice
Follow all policies and procedures
Maintain training and competency
Perform rooming/visit tasks
Perform medication reconciliation
Review medical history
Review health maintenance
Review allergy review
Assist provider with procedures
Perform procedures as ordered
Perform lab related duties
Prepare lab requisitions
Complete waived laboratory tests
Administer medications safely
Administer vaccines safely
Perform medication refills
Complete insurance authorizations
Complete safety/regulatory logs
Send patient messages
Order medication/supplies
Schedule appointments
Cross train to perform duties
Demonstrate effective communication
Demonstrate timely communication
Demonstrate appropriate escalation
Maintain clean work environment
Ensure equipment is in working order
Ensure supplies are in working order
Stock areas appropriately
Provide care appropriate to patient age
Assess data reflective of patient status
Interpret information for age-specific needs
