Full Job Description

**This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract** Amazon is seeking an experienced communications professional with a strong track record in media relations and issues management to support our business in the UK. We are looking for a self-motivated Media Relations Manager who can thrive in a fast-paced news environment. The successful candidate will work within Amazon UK Corporate Communications and be an integral member of the team responsible for day-to-day operations of the UK Press Office. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for managing queries from journalists, lead on media relations initiatives, and provide ongoing strategic counsel to senior leaders. This role requires someone who has excellent news sense, can confidently advise and build relationships with internal stakeholders, navigate complex issues, and maintain high-judgment and attention to detail when managing multiple priorities in narrow timeframes. Key job responsibilities • Manage UK media queries - working across multiple cross-functional business teams to respond to questions from journalists. • Provide strategic counsel – advising business leaders and PR colleagues on communications. • Media relations - supporting the business and Corporate Communications team build and maintain relationships with key UK journalists and external agencies. • Press Office management – supporting day-to-day Press Office projects, including media training, messaging, and tracking. • Proactive story-telling – ad hoc executional support on Corporate Communications campaigns.
