What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High school diploma or GED equivalent, A minimum of three (3) years directly-related experience as a mechanical maintenance technician (millwright) in petrochemical, refinery, pulp/paper or related industry, OR Completion of a two (2) year industrial Maintenance Technology degree. Must be proficient in repairing industrial pumps, turbines, compressors, and gearboxes. OR Successful completion of an approved industrial maintenance technology program from an accredited institution/college. Must be proficient in repairing industrial pumps, turbines, compressors, and gearboxes., Must be able to acquire a TWIC card
What You'll Do.
Perform basic maintenance and repairs on machines.
Clean and lubricate machinery.
Perform basic diagnostic tests.
Check performance of machinery.
Test damaged machine parts.
Repair and assemble machinery.
Replace defective parts of machine.
Align machines and equipment.
Connect power unit to machines.
Connect steam piping to equipment.
Test unit to evaluate mechanical operation.
Repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
Assemble and install equipment.
Position steel beams to support bedplates.
Signal crane operator to lower assembly units.
Align unit to centerline.
Insert shims to set specified clearances.
Adjust tension on nuts and bolts.
Position parts to set specified clearances.
Move machinery and equipment.
Attach moving parts and subassemblies.
Bolt machines to foundation.
Weld machines to foundation.
Rivet machines to foundation.
Fasten machines to foundation.
Lay out mounting holes.
Drill holes with power drill.
Bolt parts to basic assembly unit.
Establish centerline.
Dismantle machinery and equipment for shipment.
Perform installation and maintenance work.
Construct foundation for machines.
Operate engine lathe to grind machine parts.
Operate engine lathe to file machine parts.
Operate engine lathe to turn machine parts.
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
providing input on improvement opportunities; dismantling machinery and equipment for shipment to installation site, usually performing installation and maintenance work as part of team
