Electrify your future. **About the role** AGL has an exciting opportunity for a **Mechanical Fitter** to join AGL’s Renewables division, supporting the maintenance and reliability of hydro‑electric power generation assets across North East Victoria. **Location:** This position is based at AGL’s Hydro Head Office in **Mount Beauty** , located in the heart of the Kiewa Valley with the Alpine National Park and Falls Creek close by. Mount Beauty offers exceptional access to mountain biking, hiking, skiing/snowboarding and year‑round outdoor recreation, alongside quality education and health facilities. **What you will be doing** * Undertake routine, preventative and breakdown maintenance on hydro‑electric plant, including turbines, valves, pumps and associated mechanical systems * Conduct inspections of plant and infrastructure, identifying defects, wear and performance issues * Assist with installation, upgrades and commissioning of mechanical plant and equipment * Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems critical to hydro operations * Prepare work orders, maintenance records and reports using systems such as SAP * Complete hazard assessments (JSA/HRA) and follow Safe Access Rules to ensure all work is performed safely * Supervise contractors to ensure work is completed safely and to required standards
