What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, 8–12 years of experience in EMS design, 8+ years of experience designing compute or networking hardware products, Expertise using 3D MCAD tools such as Creo or NX, Experience working with engineering documentation and design release processes

Nice to Have

Experience with engineering change processes including ECO, BOM, and deviation workflows, Familiarity with Agile product lifecycle management systems, Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD)

Full Job Description

itD is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technical Leader to drive the design and delivery of advanced mechanical solutions that support high-performance compute and networking hardware platforms. This role plays a critical part in guiding engineering decisions, ensuring design quality, and enabling efficient product development from concept through production. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in mechanical design for complex electronic systems and a proven track record of delivering reliable, manufacturable hardware solutions. Location: San Jose, CA - 100% Onsite Duration: 12 Months Pay Rate: $38 per hour We provide comprehensive medical benefits, a 401k plan, paid holidays, and more. Please note that we are only considering direct W2 candidates at this time, as we are unable to offer sponsorship. Responsibilities: Lead mechanical design initiatives for complex compute and networking hardware products from concept through production. Develop and review 3D mechanical designs, assemblies, and detailed drawings using advanced MCAD tools. Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with electrical, manufacturing, and product teams to ensure alignment on design objectives and delivery timelines. Analyze mechanical system performance and identify improvements related to reliability, manufacturability, and cost efficiency. Guide design change processes including engineering change orders, bill of materials updates, and deviation management. Support product development lifecycle activities including prototyping, validation, and transition to manufacturing. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering team members while maintaining high design quality standards.
