Must Have

B. S. or M. S. in Mechanical Engineering, minimum of 8 years of experience, Some experience in supervising or managing team members, Experience developing injection molded plastic, sheet metal, and machined Aluminum components, Experience with design tolerance analysis and practical application of GD&T principles, Experience in product ideation and in turning customer requirements into products, Experience working on multi-disciplined project teams that include electrical, mechanical, and firmware, Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills, Demonstrated experience in the development of complex injection molded plastic components, Ability to work in fast-paced environment, Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 5%, U. S. citizens, Knowledge of quality systems concepts and tools and their applications, Expertise in designing products for international safety certification, Experience with SolidWorks, Experience in structural, thermal, and fluid dynamic simulation for enclosures, hardware, and mechanical components, Must possess very communication skills and interpersonal skills, have the ability to lead a team, Ability to present complex concepts in a clear non-technical manner, making the complex, simple, analytical and negotiating skills, Must be self-motivated, high energy and have a desire for team building

Nice to Have

MS in Management of Technology or an equivalent Technology-MBA degree, Preferred experience performing Mold Flow Analysis

What You'll Do.

supervise a staff of engineers and designers

design / development of Intercom products

design of injection molded plastic and metal components

leading and coordinating all product certification and testing efforts

ensuring that their mechanical engineering workforce is properly sized

recruit and retain staff

participate in the new product development process

work closely with other groups

including Purchasing and both internal and external manufacturing facilities

Design of custom injection molded plastic

and machined Aluminum parts

Integrate custom-designed and off‑the‑shelf mechanical components into complete electro-mechanical assemblies

Participation in the full new product development life-cycle

Managing and developing global mechanical engineering and design resources

Product ideation and the co-development of structured engineering requirements

Establishing schedules for projects as well as project

and device cost estimates

Accountable for schedule

and project / product cost performance

Adherence to corporate processes and policies

Co-developing strategic and tactical budgets covering staffing

Monitoring and controlling expenses

Working with Product Management to develop and document customer requirements

Building cross functional relationships

Coaching and developing staff members

Providing hands-on technical leadership as well as technical contribution to projects and product maintenance activities

Participating in the development of medium to long term product and technology roadmaps

Managing continuation / maintenance engineering projects

managing component availability / end-of-life issues

Leading product certifications and testing

managing the relationships with UL and other Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories
