Must Have

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar disciplines, 7+ years experience with a background in design/analysis/construction of large and complex mechanical systems, Experience leading mechanical designs from concept through commissioning, Mechanical design experience using CAD tools, Mechanical analysis experience using FEA tools, Familiarity with ASME Y14. 5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack-up analysis, Experience in heavy duty mechanism design, Experience in designing and analyzing bolted connections, mechanical interfaces, and load-bearing joints in precision assemblies, Experience analyzing mechanical systems under dynamic loading conditions including vibration, shock, and fatigue, Must be a U. S. citizen or national, U. S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U. S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Nice to Have

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field, Professional Engineer (PE) license (Mechanical), Experience in ANSYS, Experience in PTC Creo/Windchill, 2+ years direct GSE design and analysis experience

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. **Mechanical Engineer - Mechanisms, Level III** As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will work on designing and developing key mechanical ground systems for Blue Origin’s launch site at LC-36 (Cape Canaveral, FL). You’ll have the unique opportunity to be part of a great team building the ground mechanical and structural systems and GSE (Ground Support Equipment) for Blue Origin’s giant rockets, New Glenn and New Glenn 9x4! **Responsibilities:** * Lead design efforts for assigned subsystems, independently resolve technical challenges. * Own and deliver mechanical design solutions for large mechanical systems/mechanisms. * Independently perform and review FEA and hand-calcs for complex mechanical systems. * Manage external design and fabrication partners through complete project lifecycle, and oversee equipment fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing & activation. **Minimum Qualifications (required):** * Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar disciplines. * 7+ years experience with a strong background in design/analysis/construction of large and complex mechanical systems (e.g. launch vehicle GSE and mechanisms, aerospace tooling, oil & gas mechanical systems, etc). * Experience leading mechanical designs from concept through commissioning. * Mechanical design
