Must Have
Registration as a North Carolina Professional Engineer, Minimum of 4 years progressively responsible experience in the practice of Building Systems Mechanical Engineering, Valid NC Driver’s License with acceptable driving record, Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of engineering
Nice to Have
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Minimum of 5 years progressive professional experience in the practice of Building Systems Mechanical engineering, Possession of a Level Ill North Carolina Inspector Certificate issued by the North Carolina Code Officials Qualification Board, or the ability to obtain within three (3) years of employment

Preparation of specifications
Preparation of cost estimates
Serve as project manager
Review pay applications
Approve pay applications
Approve Change Orders
Mitigate contract disputes
Evaluate project completeness
Provide plan approval
Verify estimated costs
Check submitted drawings
Check submitted specifications
Review plans for energy efficient systems
Review plans for energy conservation
Review plans for serviceability
Review plans for maintainability
Review plans for compliance
Review mechanical system aspects
Assist construction monitors
Resolve technical issues
Resolve contractual issues
Provide Mechanical inspections
Provide Plumbing inspections
How You'll Work.
Team & Collaboration
Work closely with DOA Facility Management staff; Attend project progress meetings; Evaluate the mechanical system design with other disciplines
Communication Scope
Communicating technical information to others; Technical writing; Written communication; Constructive negotiations; Public speaking
