**Last date to apply:** 08 June 2026 Husqvarna is strengthening its R&D team with a **Mechanical Engineer** focused on **electric motor development** for battery-powered handheld products. The team consists of 15 members, with a strong mix of mechatronics and electronics expertise. Some of the engineers focus on mechatronics, covering wiring harnesses, electric motors, housings, and thermal management of the electronics unit. And some engineers specialize in electronics development, responsible for designing and developing the electronic systems. Together, the team has full responsibility for the powertrain of battery-powered handheld products. **Role description** The role has responsibility for requirements definition, supplier coordination, and verification of electric motors primarily developed by external partners. You will act as technical owner internally, ensuring performance, quality, and lifecycle requirements are met, and that solutions are correctly documented and integrated. Key responsibilities include: * Technical ownership of electric motors in R&D projects * Requirements specification and verification * Supplier-driven development coordination * Documentation and change management in CATIA and Teamcenter * Cross-functional collaboration across R&D, sourcing, and quality **Your profile** Collaboration is essential in this role, especially as much of the detailed development is carried out together with external partners. This requires strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers. You have: * Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent * 3+ years of experience in the mechanical engineering field * Experience with CATIA and PLM tools (Teamcenter preferred) * English and Swedish, spoken and written Experience with electric motors or electromechanical systems is meritorious **Location** Huskvarna.
