What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, 4+ years of experience, Solidworks 3D CAD tools skill, GD&T application experience, Design for Manufacturability and Assembly principles, Ability to visually see and focus on fine details

Nice to Have

Building proof-of-concept prototypes, Lean, mid-volume manufacturing environment experience, Portfolio of creative product design solutions, Thermal or vibration analysis experience, Understanding of manufacturing processes, Understanding of ASTM E595, Cubesat or space flight hardware design techniques, Fiber-optic or free-space optical systems experience, Optical atomic clocks experience, SolidWorks PDM or Arena PLM experience, SolidWorks, ANSYS, or COMSOL design analysis tools experience

What You'll Do.

Analyze design requirements

Interpret industry standards

Develop non-traditional methods

Generate documentation packages

Perform engineering analysis

Guide design decisions

Contribute to technical reviews

Participate in project status meetings

Assemble prototype units

Develop assembly procedures

Evaluate mechanical sub-system performance

Coordinate with manufacturing

Incorporate DFM/DFA into design

Support DFM/DFA documentation
