What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Experience with scanning technologies such as Faro tripod systems or Creaform handheld scanners, Ability to convert physical measurements and scan data into accurate 2D engineering drawings using Inventor, Familiarity with minimal 3D modeling workflows to support drawing creation, Understanding of mechanical components used in transformers, including gaskets, flanges, and mounting structures, Ability to work on long‑cycle, detail‑intensive engineering projects requiring precision and consistency, collaboration skills for working with cross‑functional engineering and field teams, High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, manufacturable drawings, Capable of working independently and as a team member, work ethic and unwavering integrity, Excellent interpersonal skills and a learning mindset, Curiosity, problem solving, and analytical thinking, Effective verbal and written communication, Desire to work on a variety of projects, Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States
What You'll Do.
Support transformer remanufacturing projects with a focus on accuracy
and long project‑cycle management
Use specialized scanning technologies (Faro tripod scanner and Creaform handheld camera) to capture physical measurements of transformer components
Convert scan data into accurate 2D detailed drawings for components such as gaskets
and mechanical interfaces
Apply minimal 3D modeling techniques as needed to enable precise drawing generation
Perform mechanical modification design work for transformer components based on scan outputs
Contribute to redesign projects
including mounting structures for mobile substations
Ensure drawing accuracy to support manufacturing
and field modification activities
Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners
