## Description Mechanical Systems Design Engineer – Low Voltage Switchgear Location: Marietta, OH Employment Type: Direct Hire Compensation: Starting at $90,000+ annually (based on experience and technical background) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Systems Design Engineer to support the development of low-voltage power distribution equipment, including switchgear assemblies designed to UL 891 standards. This role focuses on producing detailed, manufacturable mechanical designs while coordinating closely with electrical engineering and production teams. This is a hands-on engineering position ideal for candidates with prior switchgear design experience, strong CAD skills, and a solid understanding of fabrication and assembly processes. ## Core Responsibilities Engineering Design & Product Development Develop mechanical layouts and detailed designs for low-voltage switchgear assemblies in accordance with UL 891 requirements Design enclosure systems, structural supports, breaker mounting arrangements, and cable management solutions Generate fabrication packages including general arrangement drawings, sheet metal details, weldments, and bills of materials Ensure designs are accurate, manufacturable, and aligned with project specifications Technical Coordination & Design Review Collaborate with electrical engineering teams to integrate mechanical and electrical system requirements Support coordination of one-line diagrams, bus configurations, equipment spacing, and cable routing considerations Participate in design reviews to address accessibility, interference, thermal management, and maintainability concerns Verify compliance with applicable standards, manufacturing capabilities, and internal engineering practices Manufacturing & Production Support Apply design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) principles during product development Provide engineering support during fabrication, assembly, testing, and inspection activit
