Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, 3–8+ years of experience in mechanical design of low-voltage switchgear, Direct, hands-on experience designing UL 891 switchgear, Ability to independently execute switchgear designs from concept through production, knowledge of: Enclosure and structural design, Breaker mounting and compartment layouts, Bus compartment separation and clearance requirements, Cable entry, routing, and accessibility, Ventilation, cooling, and arc containment considerations, Experience supporting compliance documentation and UL inspection processes, Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor, Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication, weldments, and manufacturing processes, attention to detail and documentation accuracy, Effective collaboration and communication skills

What You'll Do.
Develop mechanical designs and layouts for low-voltage switchgear assemblies in accordance with UL 891 standards
Design enclosure structures

Ensure designs meet applicable codes

## Description Switchgear Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Marietta, Ohio Job Type: Direct Hire Salary: Compensation starts at $90,000+ depending on experience Position Summary A growing engineering and manufacturing operation is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in low-voltage power distribution equipment and UL 891 assemblies. This role will focus on developing production-ready mechanical designs for switchgear systems used in industrial and commercial applications. The position requires strong technical knowledge of switchgear construction, enclosure design, fabrication methods, and compliance requirements.
