Eligibility Requirements

Relocation provided, Travel expected up to 10% of the time, Interviews will include a technical assessment, U. S. citizen or national, U. S. permanent resident (i. e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U. S. as a refugee or granted asylum, Blue’s Standard Background Check, Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check if at any time the role requires one to be on a military installation, Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10, 001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training, Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical

What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a related subject area, 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and producing complex engineered products, mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD software, Proficient in the application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing per ASME Y14. 5, Demonstrated ability to build trusting and effective working relationships that improve team performance and deliver results

Nice to Have

Spacecraft primary or secondary structure design experience, Ability to apply structural mechanics principles and develop designs using hand calculations and finite element analysis, Experience with FEM analysis tools: Nastran, ANSYS, OptiStruct, FEMAP, Experience with rapid development techniques for hardware, Familiarity with systems engineering practices, manufacturing processes, and quality control, Proficiency in dimensional variation analysis, Experience with optimization and DOE methods as applied to design, analysis, and testing, Proven experience with core project management skills, including logic-linked scheduling, budget and schedule variance tracking, and reporting project status to leadership, Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance

What You'll Do.

design various structural elements and mechanical systems for the spacecraft

Participate in the entire design cycle of flight hardware

including conceptual and detailed design

and interface control documents

Create command media for assembly and testing of development and flight hardware

Participate in subsystem level testing including planning

Develop component specifications and manage suppliers

Provide manufacturing and production support

Leverage experience and engineering judgment to quickly design and produce non-flight

proof of concept hardware for fast-moving research and development projects
