The Mechanical Design Engineer will be a member of the Amazon Leo Inter-Satellite Link team, focusing on the design of the various mechanical ground support equipment, including assembly, alignment, and testing fixturing and tooling. Key job responsibilities In this role, you will be expected to lead a variety of tasks, developing 3D and 2D mechanical design and related analysis specifically for manufacturing GSE for payloads satellite systems in Siemens NX. The ideal candidate will have a foundation in mechanical engineering suited for both prototype and production level designs, with competency on PCBA fabrication, and fiber-optic handling. We're looking for a mechanical engineer with aerospace/defense background, and a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. You will be expected to work with a team of top-notch engineers and collaborate with multiple other spacecraft design and integration teams. You should be comfortable with ambiguity, working in a fast-paced work environment, with a high degree of autonomy and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before.
