Location: Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater (hybrid on-site 3 days per week) Grade: A Salary: £45,000 – £47,000 Ready to play a key role in solving complex engineering challenges on one of the UK’s most ambitious low‑carbon infrastructure projects? The Opportunity As a Mechanical Calculation Engineer, you’ll contribute directly to the delivery of safe, efficient engineering solutions supporting the construction of two EPR reactors at Hinkley Point C. Working within the Joint Design Office (JDO) on site, you’ll respond to real-time engineering queries, perform critical mechanical calculations for electrical systems, and help ensure designs meet stringent nuclear safety and quality standards, supporting the transition towards An Electric Britain. EDF EPR Engineering UK delivers the design for nuclear island buildings, systems, and equipment for Hinkley Point C and similar projects. Working as part of an integrated team, EPR Engineering supports construction and commissioning while preparing design‑replication feasibility and related engineering activities. You’ll join us on a salary between £45,000 - £47,000 per annum. This role is based on site at #HinkleyPointC in #Bridgwater, placing you at the centre of delivery where engineering decisions directly influence progress on a major national infrastructure project. Working within a multi-disciplinary and multicultural engineering environment, you’ll strengthen your technical expertise in mechanical calculations applied to electrical systems. You’ll collaborate closely with installation contractors, designers, and engineers across disciplines, contribute to resolving complex site issues, and build valuable experience in nuclear engineering while supporting the successful delivery of one of the UK’s most significant energy projects.
