Full Job Description
**Title:** MCPP - Automotive Diesel Mechanic **Belong, Connect, Grow, with KBR!** **Program Summary** The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program. For over 35 years we have planned, coordinated, and executed the maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces. **Job Summary** Maintains, services, inspects and repairs combustion-powered automotive vehicles, over-the-road trucks, and comparable vehicles such as light combat vehicles, and trucks as well as other motor transport equipment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Performs operator, intermediate and limited major rebuild levels of maintenance which includes spot painting. Performs other tasks as assigned. **Basic Qualifications** * High school graduate or equivalent. * Four years directly related work experience. * Certificate from a vocational school or other recognized source with a major study in electrical or automotive repair is preferred. In lieu of formal course work, a combination of college credits, on-the-job training, other formalized training, or experience may be considered. * Completion of the basic automotive mechanics course, or equivalent. * Completion of the automotive organizational maintenance course, or equivalent. * Completion of the automotive intermediate maintenance course, or equivalent. * Maintains MVAC 609 Technician Certification. * Completion of the advanced motor transport maintenance courses. In lieu of formal course work, a combination of college credits, on-the-job training, other formalized training, or experience may be considered. * Working knowledge of how heavy duty machinery, engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions and other parts and systems work. * Ability to detect faulty items, determine cause of malfunction, and determine best repair methods. * Ability to assemble
