What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Diploma or B. Sc. in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or Materials Engineering, Minimum 7 –10 years' experience in materials inspection on construction projects, at least 5 years on infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, tunnels, utilities), a minimum of 2–3 years in the UAE/GCC, RTA Specifications, Dubai Municipality QCS, ASTM, BS EN, AASHTO, ACI, DEWA standards, and project Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), hands-on inspection skills, familiarity with field and laboratory testing equipment, attention to detail, accurate record-keeping, MS Office (Word, Excel), effective communication on site

RTA / DM approval as Material Inspector is preferred
What You'll Do.
Carry out day-to-day on-site inspection
and testing supervision of construction materials
Ensure materials and workmanship comply with approved submittals
project specifications
and requirements of the Client and relevant Dubai authorities
Support the Material Engineer in the implementation of the project Quality Control system
hands-on monitoring of materials delivered to and used on site
Inspect all construction materials delivered to site
Verify delivery notes
Check material quantities
Reject and segregate non-compliant materials
Carry out and witness sampling of various materials
Ensure sampling frequencies
and labelling comply with standards
Coordinate transport of samples to laboratories
Witness testing at site and external laboratories
Inspect roadworks layers for compliance
Witness compaction tests and other roadworks tests
Verify asphalt temperatures
Witness core sampling
thickness measurements
and surface regularity checks
Witness concrete pouring activities
Carry out and witness concrete tests
Verify concrete mix delivery tickets
Inspect concrete curing methods
formwork release agents
and protective coatings
and durability-related tests
Inspect reinforcement steel deliveries
Verify reinforcement bar details and fixing
and tensile testing of reinforcement samples
Inspect structural steel
post-tensioning strands
Support inspection of bridge-related materials
Inspect tunnel-related materials
Witness shotcrete trials
Verify storage and handling of precast elements and sensitive structural materials
Inspect materials for infrastructure utilities
Check various pipeline and chamber materials
and leakage testing of pipelines
Verify backfill materials
and surround conditions
Inspect site storage areas and stockyards
Check protection against weather
Verify material storage complies with manufacturer recommendations and shelf-life requirements
Maintain daily Material Inspection Reports
Support the Material Engineer in the preparation and update of the Material Approval Register
Verify Contractor's Inspection Requests (IR)
Material Inspection Requests (MIR)
and Work Inspection Requests (WIR)
Issue observation notes and support the preparation of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
Report directly to the Material Engineer
Coordinate with Site Engineers
and the Contractor's QA/QC team
Attend daily site coordination meetings and material-related technical meetings
Prepare daily and weekly inspection inputs for reports
