This role is part of Alcon's Supply Chain function, a team that manages the logistics, inventory management, and supply chain analytics for Alcon's industry-leading products to ensure products are delivered efficiently and effectively so that people can see brilliantly. The **Materials Control Truck Driver** is primarily responsible for handling sophisticated tasks in warehouses and distribution centers to ensure smooth operations. You will optimize storage, develop distribution strategies, and maintain safety and efficiency. You will be trusted to use your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A, and perform safety checks of brakes, steering columns, lights, and mirrors before each leg of your journey to ensure road readiness. Specifics include: * Handle material flows and optimize storage * Develop and implement distribution strategies to enhance business performance * Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of trailers, including securing cargo with chains and binders and verifying stability throughout trips * Assist in unloading cargo while maintaining product quality * Follow traffic safety regulations and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions * Receive, verify, and record goods and shipments to maintain accurate inventory * Pack items for shipment according to specifications and transportation requirements * Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and efficient distribution * Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain compliance with Good Practice (GxP) regulations * Add to continuous improvement and o
