Full Job Description
This role will be mainly remote but require flexibility to travel to client sites, and our offices based in London, Sheffield, and Bristol. Salary: £75k to £80k Strong understanding of Master Data Management principles, including domain identification, golden record design, survivorship rules, matching and merging, reference data, data ownership, stewardship and data quality controls. Ability to assess enterprise data domains and prioritise MDM use cases based on business value, risk, feasibility, data quality and implementation complexity. Experience defining MDM operating models, including governance structures, stewardship roles, decision rights, escalation routes, data standards and ongoing service management. Strong Microsoft Azure data platform knowledge, ideally including Azure Data Lake, Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL, Synapse, Databricks, integration services, Power BI and common enterprise integration patterns. Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Purview, including data discovery, scanning, catalogue design, glossary or business concept modelling, lineage, classification, sensitivity labelling, data estate health and governance workflows. Ability to evaluate tooling options and produce balanced recommendations covering capability fit, architecture, security, cost, licensing, implementation effort, operational complexity and future scalability. Experience assessing data quality across source systems and defining practical remediation approaches, including profiling, rule definition, issue management and ownership. Strong understanding of metadata management, including business metadata, technical metadata, operational metadata, lineage, cataloguing, enterprise metadata models and integration with wider data governance. Ability to map dependencies across technology, process, people, governance, security, data architecture, integration and reporting layers.
