What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Master’s degree in Rural Development, Agricultural Economics, Value Chain Development, Development Economics, Business Administration, Agribusiness, or a related field from a recognized university., Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Market Systems Development, including providing technical support, capacity building, and stakeholder engagement within development projects., Proven knowledge and experience in designing and implementing interventions on market development and value chain analysis (esp. focusing on Dairy or livestock value chain)., Demonstrated experience in the dairy value chain, including effective engagement and collaboration with private sector actors., Experience in private sector development, market linkages, and building network of actors., Hands on experience in cost-benefit analysis, feasibility studies, context mapping., Profound skills in (participatory) market research, actors analysis, & conducting business case studies., Very good understanding of urban and peri-urban livelihood systems., Understanding food security and livelihood improvement partiaulry in Dairy market system., Familiar with gender sensitive and youth led interventions., Profound knowledge and skills in do-no-harm approaches and conflict transformation., Conviction and proven experience in active community participation (including in decision making) and empowerment of grassroots structures.
Nice to Have
Experience using Agresso, Experience in working in a multi-stakeholders approach, Fluency one and or more local languages ( Amharic and Afan Oromo)
What You'll Do.
Provide technical support on MSD approach
Facilitate and build capacity of partners
Ensure women's empowerment integration
Coordinate project implementation with partners
Ensure project activities align with contract
Provide timely technical support
Document learning for stakeholders
Promote adherence to standards
Contribute to advocacy and information work
Facilitate assessments and business case development
and manage partner relationships
Assess quality of relationships with partners
Identify capacity needs of partners
Provide training and accompaniment to staff
Facilitate experience sharing forums
Conduct power analysis and integrate activities
Facilitate trainings for women participation
Conduct monitoring visits to partners
Ensure monitoring framework is functioning
Gather information for progress reports
Compile and submit narrative reports
Maintain comprehensive project records
Support project review commence
