What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High School Diploma, Graduate of a Trade School, 10 years Military or Commercial experience aboard ship, Chief Electrician or Shipyard Electrician experience, Marine Electrical experience, Familiarity with ship-based power generation and distribution systems, Familiarity with marine electronics, Knowledge of 3 phase power systems, Knowledge of low voltage D/C alarm and lighting systems, Knowledge of control systems, Qualified to perform repairs to 480 VAC 3 phase, Qualified to perform repairs to 220 & 115 VAC single phase, Qualified to perform repairs to 24 & 12 VDC power systems, Qualified to perform repairs to control voltage systems, Capable of trouble shooting and performing repairs to diesel generators, Capable of trouble shooting and performing repairs to voltage regulators, Capable of trouble shooting and performing repairs to electric motors, Capable of trouble shooting and performing repairs to power distribution systems, Capable of trouble shooting and performing repairs to switchboards, Capable of trouble shooting and performing repairs to lighting systems, Capable of utilizing test equipment, Meggers, Volt Ohm Meters, Able to reside in remote location, Valid passport, Valid driver's license, Able to obtain and maintain a Secret U. S. Government Clearance, U. S. Citizenship

Electrical Engineering Degree, Chief Electricians License

Perform duties of Marine Electrician
Install new cabling aboard ship
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems
Operate from Marine Electric Shop
Order and receive materials
Maintain shop inventory
