What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a related discipline, 5 years of relevant experience in Design for Manufacturing / Design for Assembly, manufacturing or industrial engineering and new Product Introduction (NPI), industrialization, or production ramp‑up, Solid expertise in at least one of the following areas: Mechanical DfM, such as sheet metal forming, stamping, die casting, injection molding, machining, or structural assemblies, Solid expertise in at least one of the following areas: Electrical / electronics DfM, such as PCBA design for manufacturing and test, cabling and harness systems, mixed‑signal electronics, or production test concepts, Working knowledge of design and/or Process FMEA, root cause analysis and corrective action methods and PLM systems and engineering change processes, Hands‑on and analytical mindset, with an interest in testing, validation, and practical problem solving, collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across disciplines and organizational boundaries
Nice to Have
Experience working close to both product development and manufacturing is a plus
What You'll Do.
Contribute to cross‑functional product development teams as the design‑for‑manufacturing expert
Ensure DfM and DfA principles are applied throughout the product lifecycle
from early concept and system architecture through detailed design
and series production
Balance trade‑offs between functionality
and manufacturability to achieve robust product designs
Serve as the “voice of manufacturing” throughout the development process
Identify and mitigate manufacturing and quality risks using structured methods such as D‑FMEA
and root cause analysis
Collaborate closely with manufacturing
and external partners to ensure designs align with real production conditions
Contribute to continuous improvement of both products and development processes based on production feedback and testing results
