Bend, squat, climb, grasp, reach, lift, or otherwise move about frequently and for extended periods of time., Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. regularly, or more occasionally., Walk, stand, or otherwise move about continuously., Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require personal protective equipment., Grasps items and performs keyboarding for the occasional operation of a computer., Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision., Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High school diploma or equivalent, A technical degree/certificate in machinery or 2 years of related experience, 18 years old at the time of hire to operate equipment, Safely and effectively set up and operate a manual lathe to machine rolls, including turning, boring, facing, centering, and internal diameters., Proficient in performing required machine setups, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications, and using close-tolerance measuring instruments necessary to perform job duties., Proficient in machining a variety of part styles while maintaining required dimensional tolerances., Conduct in-process and final quality inspections to ensure parts meet dimensional, visual, and functional requirements., Follow established quality standards, work instructions, and inspection plans to ensure consistent and repeatable results., Provide and maintain sufficient basic hand tools required to properly perform the duties of the position., Exercise care and perform basic preventive maintenance on tools and equipment assigned to the position.
