Job Overview The Transportation Manager - Routing will provide leadership and oversight for the entire Routing Department, ensuring efficient, accurate, and student‑centered route development across all programs. The Transportation Manager – Routing directs staff, systems, and processes that support daily operations while contributing to long‑range service planning, boundary‑related analysis, and routing‑related project work. This position ensures routing operations are aligned with FBISD policies, departmental goals, and service expectations established by Transportation leadership. Position Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities Routing Operations Management Oversee daily routing operations for Regular Education, Special Education, CTE, Magnet, McKinney-Vento, and specialized transportation programs. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of routing data, maps, bus stops, ride times, and load counts across all routing systems. Review, adjust, and optimize routes to support bell schedules, capacity utilization, ride-time expectations, and overall operational efficiency. Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance route safety, service delivery, and system efficiency. Maintain routing system readiness to support real‑time operational decision‑making, including emergency response, weather impacts, and significant service disruptions. Ensure the Routing Department contributes effectively to daily operational readiness, communication, and coordination across transportation terminals. Department Leadership & Oversight Direct, supervise, and develop the Routing Department to ensure effective workload distribution, staff performance, and consistent application of FBISD routing standards. Provide coaching, guidance, and ongoing development for Routing Specialists and support staff. Ensure processes, documentation, and routing practices align with district Transportation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture
