What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Pharm. D degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy, 2 years hospital experience as a Pharmacist in an Acute Care Hospital Pharmacy Environment, 2 years experience in using Cerner EHR (Specifically Pharmacy Module), Pharmacy Technician (CA DCA) Registration with California State Board of Pharmacy with no disciplinary actions taken, Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association, Fire Life Safety Training (LA City)
Nice to Have
Supervisory experience preferred, Completion of a residency program in a hospital setting preferred
What You'll Do.
Oversee day-to-day operation of the Pharmacy
Assist Director in development and implementation of goals
Maintenance and optimization of EHR platform
Collaborate on operational efficiency and excellence
Coordinate daily workload
Oversee daily departmental activities
and enhancements of pharmacy software
Investigate and resolve operational issues
Prepare schedule in advance for employees
assign and supervise work of pharmacy staff
Assist Director in recruiting and selecting employees
Develop and participate in training programs
Develop and document staff competency
Perform annual employee appraisals
Provide timely performance feedback
Participate in Hospital and department committees
Ensure quality and safety standards are met
Prepare for TJC/CMS/CDPH and CaBOP site visits
Complete operational reports
Oversee compliance for compounding program
Maintain controlled substances records
Develop processes to meet regulatory standards
Participate in controlled substances reviews and audits
Responsible for medication inventory utilization
Participate in pharmacy continuous quality improvement activities
Assist with preparation of pharmacy newsletter
Make decisions based upon job knowledge and experience
Incorporate lean methodology/tools to improve operations
Accept extra duties upon request
