What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, 5 years of psych, BLS certification required, Knowledge of practice requirements of RN/LPN scope of practice as outlined in the State of Virginia Practice Act, Knowledge of psychiatric nursing and interventions and clinical knowledge base, State of Virginia Fingerprint Clearance, Must be able to pass Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services (VA DBHDS) background check, Must be able to pass Virginia Department of Social Services (VA DSS) Office of Background Investigations - Central Registry Search, Safely perform physical interventions, Lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally, Tolerate prolonged walking, standing, and observation in a fast-paced environment, Work with individuals who may exhibit agitation, aggression, or unpredictable behavior
Nice to Have
Previous emergency room or crisis psychiatric care experience, Familiarity with Court Ordered Treatment process and VA Involuntary treatment process, Master's degree in Nursing, QMHP credential
What You'll Do.
Direct day-to-day operations and activities of nursing staff
and efficient nursing operations
Serve as a clinical resource and subject matter
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
Provide direct individual care and clinical support as
Assist with recruitment
performance management
Support workforce engagement and professional development initiatives
Maintain appropriate staffing coverage
Support compliance with Joint Commission (JCAHO)
Participate in corporate and facility-based Quality Assurance and
Function as the Infection Control Nurse
Support infection prevention initiatives
Assess departmental operations for compliance risks or concerns
Escalate issues to appropriate leadership
Provide education and guidance to staff regarding regulatory
Ensure compliance training requirements are communicated
Perform all other duties as assigned in support
