Full Job Description
ABOUT THE POSITION This position will provide development leadership for a growing portfolio of behind-the-meter and on-site power generation projects serving critical load customers across North America. Projects may include natural gas generation, microgrids, combined heat and power (“CHP”), renewable generation, battery storage, and hybrid resiliency solutions. The Manager/Director, Development will be responsible for driving projects through all phases of development, including: - Fatal flaw analysis - Site diligence and feasibility - Customer coordination - Utility and interconnection management - Environmental and permitting processes - Commercial negotiations - EPC and OEM coordination - Stakeholder and community engagement - Development budgeting and scheduling - Transition to construction and commercial operations This role requires an individual who can operate effectively in ambiguous and fast-moving environments while coordinating multiple internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will possess strong project management capabilities, excellent communication skills, commercial awareness, and a solutions-oriented mindset. As an early member of a growing team, this individual will play a critical role in shaping Generate’s development processes, customer engagement approach, and execution strategy for mission-critical power infrastructure.
