What They're Looking For.

Must Have

Minimum 7 years operational experience in aviation operations or assurance, Degree or equivalent qualification in Aviation, Safety Management, Risk, Engineering, Operational Management or related discipline, Lead Auditor Qualification ISO9001:1015, Proven ability to lead and collaborate effectively across business units, AOCs and external stakeholders, Demonstrated leadership in managing and inspiring a large, diverse team of safety advocates across remote and geographically dispersed locations, Demonstrated experience leading, coaching or managing assurance, audit or safety professionals, Proven ability to lead Risk Assessments, Working knowledge of CASA regulations and industry guidance and requirements, Working knowledge of Qantas SMS and safety management standards including the QRAG, Capability in planning, conducting and evaluating risk-based audits and assurance activities to verify control effectiveness within a regulated environment, Ability to support aircraft projects and Entry Into Service by assessing operational readiness, safety risks and control transitions into business-as-usual operations, Ability to interpret complex information, identify systemic issues and provide sound, evidence-based assurance conclusions under operational and time pressure, Proven skill in constructively challenging senior leaders, project teams and operational stakeholders while maintaining credibility, independence and productive working relationships, Demonstrated ability to engage with Health and Safety Representatives and unions on sensitive assurance matters, balancing consultation, transparency and governance obligations, Ability to lead, coach and manage assurance resources through dotted-line or rotational arrangements, maintaining consistency, quality and professional standards, Skills and experience in desktop programs such as MS Word and PowerPoint, High level of operational performance, Ability to work independently and part of a team, High level of time and prioritization management skills, Written and verbal communication skills, Ability to communicate assurance outcomes to non-technical audiences, Skill in influencing safe behaviours through evidence-based messaging, Experience in handling sensitive or contentious findings with professional judgement

What You'll Do.

Lead delivery of Cabin Operations assurance program

surveillance and monitoring aligned to regulatory

Provide independent assurance by identifying risks

Assess controls and deliver clear insights to support

deliver and continuously improve Cabin Operations assurance

Verify control effectiveness across the Cabin operating environment

Lead design and execution of Cabin Operations assurance

Ensure assurance activities are risk-based and outcome-focused

Align assurance activities to Group assurance frameworks

Provide confidence to Senior Manager Cabin Safety

Ensure safety risks are effectively managed

Identify non-conformances early

Implement and sustain corrective actions

produce and present audit and assurance reports

Support continuous improvement

Translate assurance outcomes into meaningful insights

Support informed decision-making

Lead targeted communication to Cabin Crew

Highlight areas of non-conformance

Highlight emerging risks and behavioural trends

Communicate findings in a constructive

transparent and learning-focused

accountability and operational safety

Act as lead SME for Safety Projects

Support Cabin Crew in SME advice on applicable

Facilitate Risk Assessment

Fulfill WHS Consultation requirements

Provide people leadership to assurance resources

Set clear expectations

Maintain high standards of assurance quality and professionalism

Support internal and external audits

Support regulatory interactions

Track and close assurance findings
