Must Have
Graduate of AMA Radiologic Technology Program, Completion of Training in Mammography speciality, Knowledge of breast anatomy, Recognize patients experiencing fear or anxiety, Recognize needs and behaviors of variety of age groups
Nice to Have
Epic certification preferred
What You'll Do.
Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms
Ensure images are properly labeled
Apply radiation protection to patient
Select technical factors for image capture
Prepare and process patient information
Secure mammography films performed elsewhere
Document patient and family history
Provide notes detailing circumstances in Penrad
Document physical lumps
Draw or label breast diagrams in Penrad
Document procedure information in Penrad
Verify proper procedure charge in Radnet
Perform patient query functions
Review previous mammographic reports and images
Prepare mammographic images for interpretation
Ensure historical images are available
Ensure presence of previous diagnostic reports
Prepare current images for dictation
Provide pre-procedure
and post-procedure education
Participate in advanced mammographic procedures
Demonstrate equipment operation
Address patient questions
Identify anxious and fearful patients
Describe image processing and reading process
Maintain patient modesty and confidentiality
Assist patients with additional resources
Label and identify specimens
Document pathology form
Call for specimen pick up
Deliver patient care with service first approach
Answer customer questions
Maintain department appearance
Maintain positive customer relations
Participate in team problem solving
Perform mammography equipment quality control
Perform mammography equipment quality assurance
Perform start-up and shut-down procedures
Perform equipment warm-up and calibration tests
Clean illuminator panels and surfaces
Clean and disinfect equipment surfaces
Ensure secure and safe patient environment
Adhere to safety practices
Provide safe work environment
Promote patient safety
Participate in safety initiatives
