Must Have
Associate's degree required, Registered in Diagnostic Radiology required, Registered in Mammography through ARRT must be obtained within 1 year of hire
What You'll Do.
Perform radiographic studies of breast tissue
Open the unit each morning
Prepare and test equipment
Collect and organize paperwork and supplies
Inform supervisor of repair needs
Familiarize patients with the exam
Answer patient questions
Allay patient fears and concerns
Make patients aware of mammogram needs
Conduct radiographic examinations
Develop and quality-check images
Determine need for additional views
Consult with radiologist
Release patient after verifying readability
Prepare patient files for radiologist
Compile films and patient record folder
Maintain department in clean and orderly fashion
Ensure dark room supplies are stocked
Store and secure materials
Maintain up-to-date knowledge
Attend lectures and seminars
Perform duties of radiography
Perform ancillary functions
Participate in quality assurance
Participate in quality control
Coordinate and communicate activities
Perform QA testing of x-ray machines
Perform QA testing of processors
Compile data of daily testing
Keep records of daily testing
Acquire spot magnification views
Acquire specialized views
Assist doctors in procedures
Assist doctors in biopsies
Maintain unsupervised access to medication room
Stock medication room
Retrieve supplies from medication room
Demonstrate commitment to outstanding customer service
Maintain working knowledge of laws and regulations
Adhere to Compliance Accountability Program
Adhere to Code of Ethics
Perform related duties as assigned
