# **Job Description** # PURPOSE The Maintenance Technician performs various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of machinery, buildings, and equipment including construction, brazing, soldering, and plumbing. Will set up, adjust and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality on this equipment. Starts up and shuts down equipment in line with company safety procedures for equipment under power and OSHA guidelines. **RESPONSIBILITIES** * Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment, plans for, and takes corrective action as directed. Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality. * Tests equipment to check operation and cleans jams. Runs equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime. Make preventative maintenance checks and inspections. * Notifies the Maintenance Manager or Lead Mechanic of reoccurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action recommended, and of quality, problems or supplies needed. Instructs and directs any maintenance trainees assigned. * Troubleshoot and maintain a variety of mechanic/electrical equipment including air compressors, repair rollers, chains, bearings, install seals, sprockets, chillers, * Gear boxes, pumps, fans, valves, motors, extruders, dies, grinders, winders, bag machines and various other support equipment of this plant. * Responsible for adhering to and executing the applicable Environmental Health & Safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for all employees according to Amcor, local, state, and federal requirement-regulations. **OPERATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS** Knowledgeable concerning complex electrical and mechanical principles. Must have considerable knowledge of the practice, methods, tools, equipment and materials of the electrical trade.
