What They're Looking For.
Must Have
High school diploma or equivalent, 4-7 years of mechanical maintenance experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional facilities, Comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC equipment, pumps, motors, bearings, power transmission, plumbing systems, and building automation controls, Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, diagnostic equipment (multimeters, infrared thermometers, vibration analyzers), ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
Nice to Have
completion of a formal apprenticeship program, technical school training, or vocational certification in mechanical maintenance, industrial mechanics, or related field, experience on large-scale building mechanical systems, Universal EPA 608 refrigerant handling certification, OSHA 10 or 30-hour safety training certification, State or local mechanical/plumbing licenses, boiler operator license, or forklift operation certification, Manufacturer-specific equipment certifications, Basic proficiency with CMMS software for work order management, Microsoft Office applications, mobile devices for accessing work orders and technical information, Physical capability to lift up to 80 lbs., work from heights, climb ladders up to 30 feet while carrying a 20 lb. tool bag, work in extreme temperatures and confined spaces, mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, flexibility to respond to emergencies and work varied schedules including on-call rotation

Repair and maintain water supply and drainage systems

and ensure proper operation of pumps and distribution equipment
Install new mechanical equipment
modify existing systems to improve performance
fabricate custom components as needed
and ensure all work meets specifications and code requirements
Follow lockout/tagout procedures
