What They're Looking For.

Must Have

9+ years of experience in mainframe performance and capacity planning on IBM z/OS platforms, In-depth knowledge of SMF/RMF data analysis, WLM configuration, and z/OS system performance metrics, Experience with Workload Load Manager (WLM), Parallel Sysplex configurations, multiple LPAR environments, and experience in capacity/performance reporting and modeling, Must have system performance understanding of mainframe components covering the areas of ZOS, JES, CICS, DB2 and IMS, Thorough knowledge in Performance analysis & tuning for ZOS operating environment / DASD / Tape storage systems, Ability to perform diagnostics and perform RCA [ Root cause analysis, analytical and documentation skills, Should be a team player with excellent communication and technical skills, Provide a 7/24 service on-call to clients, Capacity Planning for Processor, DASD, and on physical processors (CECs) for various customers, Knowledge about forecasting for processors, coupling facilities, DASD, Virtual Tape, and Tape in a complex

Nice to Have

Hands on Experiences with navigation, debugging and monitoring with tools such as RMF(I, II, III) or Omegamon or TMON or BMC, Hands on experiences with any Vendor products such as MXG, CA-MICS. Omegamon, Strobe, APA, Hands on experiences with TDS and QMF for Data extraction and Analysis, Experiences with tools such as CP3000, zPCR and zTPM are added advantage, Knowledge of cost modeling and mainframe MLC (Monthly License Charge) cost optimization strategies

What You'll Do.

Performs Performance Management & Capacity Management for Systems on Z/OS

Performance tuning of systems

practicing capacity planning activity during system up-gradation and pro-actively managing capacity planning on regular basis

Regular BAU support (including P0

weekly report generation through TDS

Monthly report presentation

Supporting other regular activities like Weekly changes

Perform Ad-hoc requests

managing systems data for clients

providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance

oversee a queue of assignments

prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients

recommending modernization options

identifying new business opportunities
