Work Here! * Assists Department Supervisor and Lead Mail Assistant as needed to provide adequate and efficient mailroom service to County departments. * Collects and retrieves mail from the U.S. Post Office and various County buildings. * Receives and sorts all interoffice correspondence and U.S. mail into mailboxes. * Weighs and post U.S. mail for County departments which includes separating pieces for bulk rates. * Receives and processes numbered article forms including courier package. * Drives to Post Office and other County locations daily to perform scheduled mail runs in all weather conditions. * Receives and signs for certified, registered, or express mail including courier deliveries. * Keeps record of accountable/numbered correspondence. * Performs various mailroom duties: copying, tabbing, folding, labeling, stuffing, shredding, including the delivery of large parcels. * Assists with end of month reports by gathering data from spreadsheets. * Daily use of Mail Center equipment and software. * Enters data into spreadsheets. * Creates outgoing courier labels online. * Checks mailboxes for errors throughout the day. * Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers. *
