Full Job Description
The Amazon Center for Quantum Computing (CQC) team is seeking a Manufacturing Shop Machinist with knowledge of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining. This is an entry-level hardware position designed for candidates who have completed a precision manufacturing program. In this role, you will support the CNC machine shop with parts production and day-to-day shop operations in a dynamic prototype environment, directly contributing to the manufacturing needs for cryogenic hardware. The focus of the role is the operation of support machinery for the manufacturing shop, including 3D printers and laser engravers, plus manual lathes, mills, and grinders. Primary output is from 3- and 5-axis CNC machining centers. Additional duties include direct collaboration with shop programmers. Development opportunities are expected with CAM programming, fixture creation and setup, and tool selection and setup. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional growth, with a solid foundation in support machinery. Effective collaboration is critical in this role, with the expectation to partner with cross-functional teams in support of cryogenic hardware assembly.
