Must be able to stand at least 6 to 8 hours a day., Must be able to work with upper body extremities., Must be able to walk, sit, or stoop on a regular basis., Must be able to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds on a frequent basis., Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds on occasion., Items more than 35 pounds will be lifted with assistance., exposed to moving high speed machinery and/or mechanical parts., required to use approved chemicals and may be exposed to dust, fumes, or smoke from normal machining operations., noise level in the work environment is usually moderate., Some areas require hearing protection when noise intensity is over 85 dB., This role requires access to U. S. export-controlled information., Employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U. S. Person as one of the following: U. S. lawful permanent resident, U. S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status

Must Have
6 months of manufacturing related experience
Nice to Have
Prior machining experience, Prior production experience, Ability/prior experience reading blueprints, Ability/prior experience reading routers and part numbers, Ability/prior experience using work instructions, Knowledge of documenting and scrapping hardware, Must be able to read and understand specifications, be able to analyze and interpret technical procedures, blueprints and written instructions., Able to read and complete necessary forms., Have the ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions from team members, coaches and leaders., Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts., Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practice situations., Able to do conversion from and to metrics., Basic computer skills., Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions., Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables., Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Power up and home machines
Understand coolant percentage mixtures
Basic housekeeping of cell (5S)
Uses gages and tools to perform and inspect work
Understand and use tool data to insure acceptable parts
understand and follow routers
Utilize geometric tolerancing
Ensures all company paperwork is filled out accurately
Fully understands blueprints
Read and understand inspection sheets
Identify revision levels
Produce error free products through in-process inspections
Identify nonconforming hardware
Meet production goals
Understand safety and machining hazards
Work under general direction with minimal coaching
Perform other duties as assigned
Attend CCC meetings daily
Program management in DNC system
Identify and use inserts
Set up and calibrate inspection devices/gages
Inspect and sign-off 1st part

# ****Job Description Summary**** # **Job Description** **Machinist 3rd Shift - TDI** **Working at our Dayton site** : TDI has been leading design and manufacturer of turbine powered start systems for 40+ years and designer of turbine air motors for over 60 years. The TDI site in Dayton, OH is a part of Unison, a GE Aerospace Company. Unison is uniquely positioned to introduce the next-gen Air Turbine Starter for the CMF56-7B fleet. At the TDI site, Unison also produces Surface Coolers and Bellows to support the aerospace industry. **Role Overview:** * Operate all machines in work center * Operate more than one machine at a time * Power up and home machines * Understand coolant percentage mixtures * Basic housekeeping of cell (5S) * Uses gages (calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, depth gages, bore gages, etc.), pneumatic tools, and hand tools to perform and inspect work * Understand and use tool data (offsets, wear, etc.) to insure acceptable parts * Review, understand and follow routers, procedures, specification, and other instructions for completeness to perform operations * Utilize geometric tolerancing * Ensures all company paperwork is filled out accurately * Fully understands blueprints * Read and understand inspection sheets * Identify revision levels * Produce error free products through in-process inspections * Identify nonconforming hardware * Meet production goals * OQP certified * Cross Train * Understand safety and machining hazards * Work under general direction with minimal coaching in a Team environment * Will also perform other duties as assigned * Attend CCC meetings daily * Program management in DNC system * Change tooling * Identify and use inserts * Set up and calibrate inspection devices/gages (I.E. bore gages, bar gages, and height * gages) * Required to inspect and sign-off 1st part * Strong attention to detail * Compliance with and supports all GE policies and the “Integrity: The Spirit and The Letter of Our Commitment” guide * Excellen
