Associate's Degree or equivalent technical school degree, Equivalent combination of education and experience, Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience, 5-7 years of related work experience, Proven leadership and supervisory skills, Knowledgeable in industrial safety standards, Knowledgeable in OSHA safety regulations, Ability to manage multiple projects, Ability to read and interpret blueprints, Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, Experience with machining, Experience with welding, Experience with disassembly, Experience with assembly of industrial equipment, Experience with assembly of components, Mechanical aptitude, Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Verbal communication skills, Written communication skills, Listening skills, Ability to make decisions quickly, Good communicator, Effective team member relation skills, Ability to use handheld measuring tools, Instruct staff on using math tools, Instruct staff on using measuring tools

Supervise hourly team members

Eliminate potential safety hazards

Ensure near miss reports happen timely

Ensure investigations happen timely
Manage activities of CNC machinists
Manage activities of welders
Assist Engineering with scope of work
Provide details on inventory parts
Ensure safety procedures are followed
Ensure quality procedures are followed
Schedule department team members
Ensure on-time delivery
Ensure efficient use of shop floor resources
Approve scheduled overtime
Review new jobs with engineering team
Review new jobs with departmental team members
Manage required resources for emergency jobs
Manage required resources for non-standard jobs
Record keeping of direct time
Record keeping of indirect time
Provide information for plant KPIs
Monitor consumption of consumable supplies
Ensure production meeting forecasted budget

Position Summary & Objective The Machining/Welding Supervisor is responsible to coordinate the shop floor activities within the machine shop and welding teams to ensure products are produced safely, cost-effectively, and on-time while meeting all quality standards. This position has direct supervision for the hourly team members who are responsible for on-time delivery of finished products. Essential Functions Performed by the Position * Leads with a safety-first culture and champions all safety and housekeeping improvement activities/programs while being proactive in eliminating potential safety hazards and unsafe behavior. * Ensures near miss, incident reports, and investigations happen in a timely manner. * Directly manages the activities of CNC machinists and welders. * Assists Engineering with scope of work, including providing details on the inventory parts used during the machining and welding process. * Ensures safety and quality procedures are followed. * Manages and schedules department team members to ensure on-time delivery and efficient
