Hospitals, hotels, schools, bridges, airports and more.** **Come build a career you believe in.** **About the Role** As a **Machine Operator – Utility** at **Zekelman Industries** , **Kansas City, MO** , this role is responsible for setting up and operating high-speed equipment with robotic elements to form or cut steel to specified dimensions and specifications. This position plays a key role in maintaining safe, efficient, and high-quality production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, technically skilled, and committed to safety and continuous improvement. **Shift:** 3rd - 7:00pm - 5:30am **What You’ll Do** * Observe all safety and lockout/tagout procedures to operate equipment efficiently and effectively * Perform advanced equipment setup and calibration to meet production requirements * Inspect materials for quality issues before, during, and after production * Record and report quality deficiencies to supervisors or the quality department * Maintain equipment tooling and tools necessary for job completion * Diagnose equipment and quality issues while minimizing scrap and production delays * Complete production, changeover, and scrap material reports * Assist maintenance teams with equipment repairs and preventive maintenance activities * Participate in continuous improvement programs to enhance efficiency * Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain clean and safe work areas * Perform additional duties as assigned by management **Who
