Full Job Description
Shift 1 (United States of America) As a **Machining Operator** , you’ll help keep daily manufacturing operations running safely and predictably by producing parts that meet specification and by supporting consistent shop-floor execution. You’ll join Schenck, a Coperion brand – part of Hillenbrand, in Sabetha, Kansas, where we support industrial manufacturing through disciplined production and continuous improvement. Your work will strengthen quality, equipment reliability, and on-time performance. You’ll grow your skills through standard work, hands-on learning, and team-based problem-solving, while contributing to a culture where people Win as One and Make It Matter. **WHAT YOU’LL DO:** * Operate manual, semi-automated, and automated machining equipment by following standard work and documented instructions to produce components that meet defined specifications. * Complete basic machine setup tasks you’re trained on by confirming correct configuration, tooling, and readiness before production starts to reduce scrap and downtime. * Inspect finished parts using measurement tools such as calipers and gauges by recording results and verifying conformance to specifications to support quality and traceability. * Identify defects and separate nonconforming material by labeling, documenting, and escalating concerns through defined procedures to prevent quality escapes. * Monitor equipment performance during runs by watching for abnormal operation, drift, or malfunctions and reporting issues promptly to protect safety, quality, and throughput. * Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance tasks by following site practices and documenting completed work to support reliable operation. * Maintain an organized, safe work area by completing 5S and housekeeping tasks and by moving or staging materials using proper handling methods to support production flow. **TEAM:** * You’ll work closely with operators, leads, quality, and maintenance partners to sha
