**Job Description** **Harborview - Pediatrics** has an outstanding opportunity for a **Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C).** **WORK SCHEDULE** * Part time, 70% FTE, 28 hours/week * Mon 8:45 – 5:15 Tues 1:15-5:15 Thurs 8:45 – 5:15 Fri 8:45 – 5:15 * Day Shift **DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION** The Pediatric Clinic at Harborview offers a wide range of services including primary care, well-child visits and developmental screenings, breastfeeding support, confidential teen services, and mental health services. Same-day appointments are available for sick kids, and an after-hours nurse phone line is available when you need immediate care assistance. Many of our services are available via telehealth (video visits) to save you time and reduce the need to bring your child into the clinic. **POSITION HIGHLIGHTS** * Conveniently located near public transportation * Make a difference for the patients and employees we serve * Opportunity to provide career growth **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** * Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records * Perform injections * Prepare and clean exam rooms * Submit medication prior authorizations * Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to provider * Act as a liaison between patient, patient’s family and providers * Assist provider with procedures and medical exams * Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values * Assist in transporting patients as required **REQUIREMENTS** * Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board OR equivalent * Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire.
