# ****Job Description Summary**** # **Job Description** **Essential Responsibilities:** You will work closely with an experienced carpenter to: * Assist in planning and laying out carpentry work from drawings, instructions, and blueprints * Assist in measuring, cutting, and shaping wood, plastic, and other materials using a variety of hand tools * Support construction, repair, and installation of building fixtures and structures (e.g., framing walls, hanging doors, installing windows, hanging sheetrock, installing countertops and cabinets, basic tiling) * Help maintain work areas using 5S principles (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain) to ensure safe, organized, and efficient job sites * Assist with setup, use, and basic care of tools and equipment, including checking cords, guards, and safety devices before use * Follow all safety standards and procedures, including PPE use and fall protection, and promptly report unsafe conditions * Work in a team environment with carpenters, maintenance technicians, and other trades to complete assigned tasks on time * Perform other related duties as assigned to support the maintenance and facilities team **Qualifications/Requirements:** * Currently enrolled in a Vocational Technical High School (at end of junior year) * Currently enrolled in a carpentry or construction trades program * Demonstrated hands-on carpentry experience or coursework (e.g., framing, basic finishing, reading a tape measure, safe use of basic power tools) * Ability to read tape measures and use basic shop math for measurement and layout * Ability to lift, move, and manipulate materials and fixtures up to 25 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations * Ability to work in a shop and plant environment, including standing, bending, working from ladders or platforms, and working in confined areas with appropriate supervision and PPE * This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under
