Must Have
Graduate from an accredited Practical Nurse program, six months of patient care experience required, Licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state, A current CPR card is either an American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers card or an American Red Cross Professional Rescuer card, Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, Must be computer literate, Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
Nice to Have
Bachelor of Nursing preferred, RN staff hired after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree must be enrolled in a BSN program within two years and complete it within four years
What You'll Do.
Provides nursing care through assessment
Directs and leads other assigned team members
collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide age/developmentally appropriate care.
Provides patient-centered care addressing physical
and environmental needs.

Ensures a therapeutic environment and participates in professional governance and development.
Delivering nursing care to inmates/detainees while following correctional facility safety and security protocols.
Responding promptly to emergencies anywhere within the secure perimeter (medical emergencies
Managing care in intakeooking
and medical observation units.
Coordinating with correctional officers for safe inmate movement and maintaining awareness of the security environment.
Maintaining strict control and accountability of sharps
Ensuring proper boundaries
communication standards
and compliance with PREA expectations.
Documenting care in accordance with correctional medical record requirements and chain-of-custody considerations when applicable.
