WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON We’re seeking an experienced Lead VFX Artist to join our Brisbane studio and help shape the visual direction of our games. You’ll lead a talented team of artists, collaborating closely with designers, animators, and programmers to bring immersive worlds to life. What it means on a daily basis * Lead and inspire a team of VFX artists, providing guidance and mentorship to foster their growth and development. * Collaborate with the Art Director and Game Designers to establish and maintain the visual style of the game. * Ensure that all VFX align with the overall artistic vision and meet high-quality standards. * Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of VFX into the game engine. * Manage the VFX team production schedules and allocate resources effectively to meet project milestones. * Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve and innovate our artistic processes. Who you will be working with You’ll join a collaborative team of 30 artists across multiple disciplines at our Brisbane Studio, contributing to an unannounced project. ## Qualifications WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED * Experience leading art teams and projects. * Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team towards achieving project goals. * Proven ability to collaborate across disciplines, including design, art, and engineering teams. * Proficiency with Unreal Engine and 3D software (preferably Maya). * Expertise in creating VFX in Niagara for Unreal Engine. * Knowledge of Photoshop and After Effects. * Capable of conceptualizing and animating a wide range of effects, from highly stylized to natural and fantastical (including tools, weapons, skills, environmental elements, atmospheric effects, creatures, vehicles, UI, and motion graphics). * Actively participating in the learning process and contributing to the development of in-house tools. * Strong observation skills and a
