Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, 7+ years of experience in software development, at least 2 years in a technical leadership role, Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JDBC, RESTful and SOAP web services, relational databases (Oracle, MySQL), Linux/Unix environments

Full Job Description
***This is an ON-SITE position at our Reston, VA office** Apptium Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead – Software Development to guide a team of developers in building scalable, secure, and high-performance applications. This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, ensuring the successful delivery of software solutions across the full development lifecycle. **Key Responsibilities:** * Lead the design, development, and debugging of web-based software solutions using Java, APIs, and relational databases. * Guide and mentor developers, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices. * Collaborate with Solution Architects, Product Owners, and QA teams to define technical requirements and deliverables. * Analyze and optimize existing systems for performance, scalability, and maintainability. * Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and clients to resolve technical issues and align on project goals. * Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software in a deadline-sensitive environment. * Contribute to Agile/Scrum ceremonies and support continuous integration and deployment efforts. **Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field. * 7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role. * Strong development skills in Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and JDBC. * Experience with RESTful and SOAP web services. * Familiarity with other languages such as Go, PHP, JavaScript, NodeJS, Python, Ruby, and Shell scripting. * Experience with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Couchbase, Cassandra). * Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless functions. * Experience with logging and monitoring tools (ELK, Splunk), caching and queuing systems (Redis, Kafka, MQ). * Understanding of identity and SSO systems (OAuth, SAML, Cognito, Fireb
