What They're Looking For.
Must Have
Degree in Biology, Aquatic Sciences, Water Resources, Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography or related field, 5+ years progressive experience in regulatory approvals, impact assessment, and project management in natural resource sector, Digital literacy using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word, Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
Nice to Have
Experience in mining, Specific knowledge and experience with permitting under BC legislation (Mines Act, Water Sustainability Act, Environmental Management Act, Forest Act)
What You'll Do.
Adhere to health and safety programs and policies
Establish regulatory approvals and engagement strategies
Implement regulatory approvals and engagement strategies
Manage work of multi-disciplinary consulting teams
Manage environmental baseline programs
Manage impact assessments
Manage related budget
Lead development of regulatory approvals applications
Provide inputs to project scoping
Provide inputs to prefeasibility studies
Identify strategies to mitigate risks
Set direction for application content
Hold external pre-application meetings
Hold mine review committee meetings
Manage preparation of applications
Build long-term relationships with Indigenous Nations
Build long-term relationships with regulators
Maintain long-term relationships with Indigenous Nations
Maintain long-term relationships with regulators
Act as regulatory point-of-contact
Cultivate culture of integration
Cultivate culture of collaboration with mine operations
Cultivate culture of collaboration with project engineering teams
Cultivate culture of collaboration with subject matter experts
Collaborate cross-functionally to align regulatory strategy
Align regulatory strategy with project value drivers
