### **Job Description** ## Overview Mechanical Designer responsible for independently handling small to medium projects and supporting larger, complex designs, including preparing specifications, coordinating with stakeholders, and integrating supplier inputs. The role involves working with AutoCAD/Revit, reviewing drawings, liaising with utilities, and providing guidance to junior team members. Ideal candidates hold a Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma, have 5+ years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection design, understand building codes, and possess strong technical and software skills. ## **Your role** * Independent design of small and medium projects and portions of larger complex projects. * Prepare mechanical specifications, site take-offs, attend & co-ordination of meetings. * Obtain information from equipment suppliers and incorporate in designs and specifications. * Co-ordinate with Utilities and Municipalities regarding incoming services. * Assist in drafting in AutoCAD on as needed basis as well as Revit modelling, independent review of shop drawings. * Provide technical directions to junior designers and CAD operators. * Dealing issues with Contractor’s during construction. ## **About you** * University degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technology Diploma from a registered college. Registered as Professional Engineer (P.Eng or CET designation is an asset. * 5 to 10 yrs experience in buildings design of HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage and Fire Protection. * Working knowledge of all applicable building codes and industry standards. * Extensive computer skills in Word, Excel, Acrobat, AUTOCAD (REVIT and other design tools an asset). * Effective communication and inter-personal skills, ability to work in a team environment & working on multiple projects. ## **Reward & benefits** Explore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive – at every stage of your life and your career.
